High Power LEDs consist of a large area LED die mounted on a high thermal conductivity leadframe. They're designed to take much higher currents, and so generate many multiples more light than a standard LED.
High Power LEDs are most useful in applications where large amounts of light need to be generated from a small emitting area. As the currents involved are much higher, good thermal management and drive circuitry are vital to ensure long term performance.

- Microscope lamps
- Automotive lighting
- Lighting for refrigerators and freezers
We pioneered High Power LED technology when we launched our TO220 package range of 1W and 3W high power LEDs in 2005. As a result, our engineers are among the most experienced in the industry when it comes to applying this technology to real world applications, and can assist in both component selection and application.
