Injection moulded backlights have a moulded lightguide, which offers a number of benefits for medium to high volume users.

Moulding the lightguide has several advantages, including the ability to incorporate detailed features such as PCB mounting clips, stand offs or complex shapes into the lightguide moulding, as well as a number of performance-enhancing optical features such as our Integral Reflector™ and Simulated Multi-Source™ (SMS) spread-optimisation technology.

High volume users who opt for a moulded lightguide backlight will benefit from the lower production costs associated with injection moulding over CNC profiling.

Moulded backlights allow almost any design to be accommodated. With set-up costs starting from as little as £2,500, timescales for moulded backlights can be as low as eight weeks from acceptance of order to delivery of first off prototypes.
